Right on the heels of the story trailer, Techland, developers of the first few Dead Island games, have released the opening cinematic for their upcoming release, Dying Light. It’s surprisingly short, to be honest, but it gives just enough information for a player to know what they’re getting into at the start of a game. Which is to say, the player character probably already knows what’s happening. To be honest, it’ll be kinda neat to have a zombie apocalypse where the protagonist doesn’t wake up not knowing that in the past 24 hours zombies have taken over. But that’s a different rant for another time. For my fellow polyglots, if you visit Dying Light’s YouTube channel, you can also see the same cinematic in German, French, Spanish, and Italian.
Dying Light is slated For a North American release on January 27, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
You can pre-order the game from Amazon
