Zombie Killing Stoners or ZKS as it’s sometimes referred to, is a story set in the Big Apple. That’s right folks; New York City is at the forefront yet again for a zombie apocalypse. ZKS introduces us to something that most readers haven’t seen before in print, a Samoan cross dressing former Marine.

Yeah, I shook my head at that one as well.

Zombie Killing Stoners are a group of neighbors in a high rise NYC apartment building that have through mostly sheer luck, survived the zombie outbreak. Now trapped on Manhattan Island after the military has dropped all the bridges, they must find a way to escape.

A few of the survivors know what to do. Woods and Divsha are about the most prepared. Woods is a former Marine (not the cross dressing one) that is a security consultant. He and Divsha are fairly well prepared with weapons, ammo, food, water and more essentials. Martin or rather Polly as he prefers to be called, (That’s the Samoan cross dressing former Marine) lives in the same building but upstairs. When the excrement hits the rotary air circulation device, the three of them band together in an attempt to get out of the city. Along the way, they pick up some people who have somehow been overlooked. Polly insists that these new additions all head to Woods’ apartment much to Woods’ dismay and dislike.

Zombie Killing Stoners is a short story, only about 62 pages. Apparently, there is more to the first release as each section is a short vignette of what is happening to the group as they attempt to get off of Manhattan Island.

While the story is short, the plot is solid. The characters are developed enough for the reader to grasp what is happening to whom and where. Its pretty apparent from the title that this is a story with some laid back characters and a lot of reference to drug use. If you’ve ever watched Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure you’ll have a general idea about how the character interaction is.
