For many of us, myself included, being a parent and zombie nerd can be a delicate balance. Granted most of my zombie themed gear has been quarantined to my office, safely away from my infant daughter, but I know the day is coming when she is going to ask me why does Daddy need a screwdriver to get his TWD blu-rays out of that man’s head. So the question still remains can I achieve balance? Is there a happy medium where I will be able to take my daughter to an amusement park and not secretly wish that the princesses were eating the giant mouse’s flesh? Well, evidently the answer to that parental quandary is ‘yes’ if I’m willing to take her to Japan.

Universal Studios in Japan has recently teamed up with Capcom to create a Resident Evil themed attraction where you are given a model gun and ten minutes to survive the B.O.W’s that we all know and love. With the special effects guru Shinichi Wakasa (Godzilla) at the helm, the monsters promise to be pretty damn incredible.

So will I be putting my daughter in the baby backpack and unloading on some Lickers? Probably not. But what about when she’s older and ready to fight the undead alongside her old man? Well, maybe then there might just be some plane tickets to Japan in her future.
