So what do Robert Kirkman and Kim Kardashian all have in common? Yes, they both have TV shows that depict the worst of humanity and center around monsters, but no, that’s not where I was going with this. Evidently, what they do have in common is pre-paid Visa debit cards.
We have seen The Walking Dead licensed for countless things, but I have to say that even I was caught a little off guard by this one. Honestly, walker inspired prophylactics would have been less shocking…gross, but you know they’d sell out. Anyway, Kirkman has evidently teamed up Card.com to produce pre-paid Visa cards that display iconic TWD images from the comic. Do they look cool, well yes. Will I be buying, well no. These pre-paid cards are often riddled with hidden fees and other shady fine print, so I’m a bit disappointed in this move. Had they been actual Visa debit cards I’d be on the phone right now.
In the end, the cards look cool and would be a good gift option for your beloved fan-boy or fan-girl, but I think we may have reached a tipping point in the saturation of TWD inspired swag…go to card.com/thewalkingead and make your own choice…and remember, you heard about those walker inspired condoms here first.
