One of the most contested aspects of surviving the zombie apocalypse is perhaps the selection of your vehicle. Now personally, I think the rugged nature of a 1980’s Ford Fiesta is perfectly suited for surviving in an undead wasteland. Obviously, I’m kidding, but still, the choice of a vehicle during a zombie outbreak may just make the difference between beating them or being them.
But where does that leave us? Car companies have released some absolutely ridiculous concept drawings capturing their idea of the perfect zombie-proof car. Some movies, like Zombieland would have us believe that the Hummer H2 is the choice vehicle. Now before the suburban soccer moms of the world high-five themselves for having made such a wise decision, I’m going to have to disagree. And evidently, so are some others.
A recently created poster details the positive and negatives of various car types and their drawbacks during an apocalypse. It doesn’t give specific makes or models, beyond the Ford F-150 from the 80’s, which is evidently the ideal vehicle. I’m not sure that I want to be knocking around the apocalypse in an F-150 that’s older than I am, but the poster does make a great argument based on some realistic and sound survival advice. It also gives a reasoning behind choice and modifications which are pretty well thought out. Overall, this poster is really well done and planned out. So maybe, just maybe, when the undead are knocking at my door I’ll have a tricked out 1980’s shitbox classic waiting out back for my escape…
