The Reunion is a zombie film that blends together elements of Dawn of the Dead and The Wire with the desire to provide a different point of view in the zombie genre. The Reunion is described as “a crime thriller built into a horror movie” which I can appreciate. Anyone who is attempting to reinvent the zombie genre and breath a little fresh air into its rotted lungs is worth a look. Furthermore, the film’s director, Jeff Stewart, hails from my home state of New Jersey, an amazing place for all things undead, so show him and The Reunion some love!

The film has a been a work of love that Stewart has been tinkering with for five years now, but that’s not to say that The Reunion is all that Stewart and his team have been doing. With projects like The Velvet Jesus, released through Amazon Studios, Stewart has been busy, but always had a desire to return to The Reunion and finish the film the way he always wanted to.

A recent Kickstater campaign has been launched to raise the funds needed for the last leg of the project. The Kickstater video looks promising, lots of zombies, good make-up and a guy with a chainsaw, so head over and check it out.

There are tons of zombie movies out there and a lot of them, much like their undead subject matter, reek terribly, but The Reunion promises something different and that alone is noteworthy. The fact that it hails from the great Armpit of America only makes it better!
