Well, not much going on recently. Oh, again, there have been plenty of zombie-related projects, but very few of them have caught my eye and some of the rest we’ve already mentioned. So, let’s get down to brass tacks.

apocalypze

First up, we have a card game called ApocalypZe. You take the role of a survivor holed up in your stronghold and you have to scavenge for supplies while fighting off hordes of the undead as well as other survivors. Not breaking any new ground there, but the game looks interesting, and it has a very atmospheric art style that fits the theme.

monstra

Next up is a comic book called Monstra: Zombie Destroyer. It’s the story of a semi-infected, half-zombie woman who is part of a team of zombie killing soldiers. The premise itself seems interesting, and I personally think that despite movies being the main focus of most zombie fans, comics are where the real zombie action is at. I do admit, I am a little off-put by Monstra’s rather… inexplicable outfit. (Sorry zombies, even half-zombies, just aren’t sexy. At least they shouldn’t be.) But hopefully she’ll put some clothes on later in the story.

skyhasfallen

Finally we have a more traditional film called The Sky has Fallen. Now, the movie itself seems somewhat interesting, but to be completely honest, what caught my eye was that this was actually the SEVENTH time this movie has been up as a Kickstarter project in the past couple years. Every few months this guy sets it up as a project again in order to raise more funds for fees to enter the movie into film festivals. I have no reason to not believe the guy, but it seems kind of strange that you still need to do that after two years. You think he’d have found some sort of distribution for it by them. Also, it’s about the third time that the funding goal was a single dollar.  Seems a bit cheeky if you ask me, since it’s a nice way to get around the whole “you get nothing if you miss the funding goal”  rule. I dunno, like I said, I got no reason to not believe the guy, but something seems a little fishy with this project to me. Still, he’s worth a mention whether the project is up because he’s still really determined to get it out there, or just really cheeky enough to get people’s donations by using the same excuse over and over again.
