REVIEW: Zombie Smash HD
Summary- (4 out of 5)-Simple and straightforward. You are charged with protecting either your house in the country, or your walled-off fortress in the city from waves of zombies. Flick them away before they break in…
CONTROLS (4 out of 5)- This is basically how it goes; flick a zombie up into the air to keep it from getting through your defenses. The more zombies there are, the faster you need to flick. It’s a heck of a lot of fun to fling zombie carcasses everywhere. Very simple, but after awhile, very repetitive.
GRAPHICS (5 out of 5)-Although the zombies tend to be a little on the cartoony side, the game more than makes up for it with flying body parts and some decent blood splatter. The HD makes the game crisp and pleasant on the eyes.
SOUND (3 out of 5)- Nothing noteworthy here. It had the possibility for some Angry Birds-esque zaniness, but no go.
STORY (3 out of 5)- You basically flick your way through different levels of a zombie onslaught. Some zombies move quicker than others, while other are harder to kill. There isn’t much else going on. There are periodic bonuses you can use like land mines, rocket launchers among others. The bonuses are fun, but ultimately pointless because they disappear after each level.
REPLAY VALUE (3 out of 5)- The game starts out fine but wears thin quickly. The fast placed flicking becomes very tiresome after while, especially on the higher and harder levels. But, admittedly, it’s a hoot to pick up zombies and fling them to the ground, so it depends on what your looking for
PRICE- 1.99 at the time of this review. For that price, it’s worth a pickup.
