First Platoon Release Information
Malcolm McDowell AND Sid Haig in a zombie film? HELL YES. I know nearly nothing about the film and don’t care with that casting I’m completely sold. How much do you want to bed McDowell plays a doctor or scientist?
First Earth Films and Laughing Jack Entertainment, both of Las Vegas NV, team up this summer to produce “First Platoonâ€, a post apocalyptic zombie comedy written and directed by Chris Gabriel, and starring Malcolm McDowell, Sid Haig, Arron Shiver (3:10 to Yuma, The Book of Eli, The Men Who Stare at Goats), newcomer Jennifer Skyler and John Kassir (Reefer Madness – The Musical, Race to Witch Mountain).
Featuring an original screenplay by Gabriel and the comedic talents of McDowell, Haig, Shiver and Skyler, “First Platoon†is an homage to a genre virtually created by George Romero, and stays true to the classic zombie lore that diehard fans revere, while offering a fast moving adventure with plenty of hilarity.
Chris Gabriel has previously teamed up with First Earth Films on “S4â€, an ultra low budget 1950’s style sci-fi comedy, and will also direct “Raggedy Anneâ€, an action/comedy, in late 2010.
Filming in Albuquerque New Mexico this spring and summer, “First Platoon†is slated for release in December 2010.
